Western Sportsman, May/June 2012 is out now!

With the May/June issues of Western Sportsman & The Outdoor Edge magazines out now, I thought it would be a good time to take a look at the first half of the year.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m the editor of both of these magazines. Both are incredibly popular: The Outdoor Edge is the largest-circulation outdoors magazine in Western Canada (and third-largest in Canada with 60,000 paid circ) and Western Sportsman has over 40 years of heritage and has a large and devoted readership right across the country (30,000 sold copies per issue).

So far, the year has been great. Ad sales are looking incredible and newsstand sales (for Western Sportsman, as The Outdoor Edge is controlled circ) are strong. The next three issues are historically our biggest and best-selling of the year…

So far, so good! Here’s to more success in the second half of ’12!
